Brussels and Târgu Mures / Marosvásárhely – FUEN in action for the minorities in Europe

- Pressemeddelelser - YOU ARE NOT ALONE: We are waiting in eager anticipation for an answer: according to the rules, the European Commission has time till Monday to give a response to our European Citizens’ Initiative – the MINORITY SAFEPACK INITIATIVE. Can we start and collect the one million signatures for diversity in Europe?

Our proposal lies on the table. We developed our “MINORITY SAFEPACK INITIATIVE” with the support of many renowned experts. Our strong citizens’ committee (Hans Heinrich Hansen, Kelemen Hunor, Jannewietske de Vries, Anke Spoorendonk, Valentin Inzko, Luis Durnwalder, Karl-Heinz Lambertz) submitted the proposals. We want to work together with the European Commission, the European Parliament and all the Member States on the improvement of the situation of the minorities and on safeguarding cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe.

Just as a reminder.

More information.

At the moment the FUEN Presidium is in Târgu Mureș / Marosvásárhely, Transylvania, Romania. Our member organisation the Democratic Alliance of the Hungarians in Romania organises a conference on the situation of the minorities in Romania. There are 18 minorities that are recognised in Romania. There are many challenges, and not only for the Hungarian minority.

We very much congratulate our West-Frisian friends from Leeuwarden / Ljouwert! It was a wise and right decision to appoint Ljouwert as the European Capital of Culture 2018.
