The hosts of the FUEN Congress 2017 are ready to welcome their guests in Transsylvania

FUEN President Loránt Vincze visited several partners and institutions from 6 to 8 March in Romania in order to personally inform them about the current affairs of the European minorities. The possible scenarios in the case of the Minority SafePack Initiative and the upcoming FUEN Congress were the main topics President Vincze discussed about during his visit in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca / Kolozsvár / Klausenburg.

"FUEN will be at home in Transsylvania. The delegates and our guests will have the chance to present an up-to-date situation of the minorities and their proposals for Europe and the member states. We would also like our guests to get to know better our region, the Hungarian community and other nationalities in Romania and eventually become ambassadors of our cause wherever they go" - stated the President of FUEN at the group meeting of the Hungarian (RMDSZ) members in the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament. The leader of the parliamentary group Mr Attila Korodi stressed the importance and the role of the FUEN in shaping the future of the minority policy in Europe and praised the chance offered to the RMDSZ to organise the FUEN Congress 2017 in the capital city of Transsylvania.

The FUEN President met the leader of the minority group in the Chamber of Deputies Mr Varujan Pambuccian (representing the Armenians in Romania) who kindly accepted the invitation to attend the opening event of the 2017 FUEN Congress. 

Loránt Vincze also had a discussion with the leaders of the Romanian Government’s Department for Inter-ethnic Relations: secretary of state Mr Aledin Amet (Tatar community), deputy secretaries of state Mrs Enikő Laczikó (Hungarian, RMDSZ) and Mrs Christiane Gertrud Cosmatu (German Democratic Forum) who were also invited to the upcoming Congress. 

President Vincze met the representatives of the FUEN member organisation Fara Armãneascã dit Romania, the Aromanian community in Romania. The President of the organisation Mr Constantin Damow presented the activities and the upcoming agenda of his organisation. He also offered their contribution to the professional and cultural program of the FUEN Congress.

The President of FUEN concluded his visit in Romania on Wednesday in Cluj-Napoca / Kolozsvár / Klausenburg and had a discussion with RMDSZ President Hunor Kelemen on the preparation of the FUEN Congress. The management team of the RMDSZ also had its first meeting, the main elements of the biggest annual gathering of the autochthonous minorities in Europe are prepared, soon the registration process will be opened to offer the best conditions possible to all delegates and guests from 17 to 21 May 2017.
