FUEN: Federal Union of European Nationalities

The All Georgian Union of Greek Societies is an umbrella organization of Greek Diaspora of Georgia. It unites about 30 regional Greek unions, has a legal form of a Union as a non-governmental, non-commercial organization and has its own press organ “Elliniki Diaspora”.

The All Georgian Union of Greek Societies is a volunteer association of equal in rights regional Greek organizations of Georgia. The Federation of Greek Societies of Georgia was founded in March 1992.

In connection with the adoption of a new Civil Code the Federation of Greek Societies of Georgia was renamed into the All Georgian Union of Greek Societies and was founded once more in March 2000.

There are Sunday schools of the Greek language, folklore dancing classes, centre of Hellenic-Pontic researches, Greek-Georgian Humanitarian Academy and union of pensioners functioning in the All Georgian Union of Greek Societies.

The main objective of the Union is preservation and development of spirituality of Greek culture and traditions, study of the Greek language, social and legal protection of Greek Diaspora members and strengthening of traditional friendship between Greeks, Georgians and other nations residing in Georgia.
