The Cultural Alliance of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia (CASH), one of the first Hungarian Organisations, was established in 1989. To the Organisation belong: 5 district organisations, 110 local groups and around 41 000 members. The President of the CASH is Laslo Brenzovych.

The Cultural Alliance of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia is one of the main social alliances of the Hungarians in Ukraine.

The function of the CASH is aimed to provide the cultural needs of the Hungarians in Transcarpathia and to defence their political interests. The members of the Alliance actively participate in the elections to the Ukrainian Parliament and the organs of self-governances. The President of the Cultural Alliance of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia, Laslo Brenzovych, was elected as the deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament. As an initiative of CASH, old historical names for many villages of Transcarpathia were returned. In the region, several monuments for famous Hungarian personalities were set up.

The Cultural Allience of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia is one of the initiators of opening the Hungarian College named after Ferenc Rakoczi II.’s also the Hungarian National theatre named after Gyula Illyes in Beregszasz (Beregovo), whics became the proud of culture of Hungarians in Transcarpathia whics many times differed with   several native and international honours.

The Cultural Alliance of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia actively supports the Hungarian media in Transcarpathia. The CASH is also the founder of the weekly newspapers “Karpatalja” and „Karpatskiy Objektiv”, and has published several books.
