"After 10 years of professional commitment to the FUEN – most recently as Secretary General - Susann Schenk will conclude her work for the European representation of the autochthonous, national minorities", FUEN and Susann Schenk announced today together in Flensburg.
Born in Lusatia, Germany, Susann Schenk was invited in 2008 by Prof Hans Heinrich Hansen, former President of FUEN, to the headquarters of the organisation in Flensburg / Flensborg. Under the leadership of Susann Schenk, the FUEN Team was able to consolidate the umbrella organisation as a political lobby organisation for the interests of minorities as well as to launch new projects, gain additional financial resources and open new locations in Berlin and Brussels. As Secretary General of FUEN, together with the Citizens' Committee she also laid the foundation for the successful Minority Safepack Initiative.
"In the last decade, the idea of developing the FUEN as a European actor for the interest of minorities has been realised. Now the FUEN Team, chaired by President Loránt Vincze, is requesting concrete measures and European protection mechanisms for minorities. For that I wish all the success", said Susann Schenk.
Susann Schenk did not want to comment on her future plans at this time.
FUEN is grateful for the many years of dedicated work Susann Schenk performed for the organisation and wishes her all the best for her future projects.
