New brochure presents the German minorities

- News

On the initiative of the German Federal Commissioner for Ethnic German Resettlers and National Minorities, Hartmut Koschyk, the German federal government published a brochure about the German minorities.

The brochure describes the culture, history and current situation of the German minorities in Denmark, in Central and Eastern Europe and in the succession states of the former Soviet Union.

The great majority of the German minorities included in the brochure are members of the Working Group of German Minorities within FUEN (AGDM). This has made it possible to collect good contributions and photos, in collaboration between the AGDM coordination office and the unit of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior responsible for the minorities in the CIS-states and the Baltic States.

The result is a colourful and informative brochure that you like to pick up and read, in order to get an overview of the Germans living outside of the Federal Republic of Germany.

We are very pleased with the publication and would like to thank all the member organisations for their contributions, and also thank the Federal Ministry of the Interior and German Minority Commissioner Koschyk!

The brochure is an official publication of the German Federal Republic and can be downloaded here (in German).
